Interactive HIV/AIDS Chat Commands
| These commands are special programmed commands made by DaveyBoy, they are not usual chat commands that you find on other public IRC chat servers/networks. |
If you're an "OP", please read over our advanced commands (click link or scroll to bottom of page).
The SEEN command will let you know when the last time a particular nickname was in the chat room. The nickname must be exact, lower or upper case does not matter. If you do not remember the full nick name, try using the SEEN2 (more advanced) command (Example: seen2 Davey).
Usage of SEEN:
seen nickname
Example: seen DaveyBoy

The PICS command will display the chat member photo area where you can upload an image or just browse others. If you use UPLOAD as a command, you will see how to upload photos (even though PICS command page has link to uploader).
Usage of PICS:

The NICK command will help you with getting guests to change their nickname. Using this command basically lists how to change one's POZ nickname.
Usage of NICK:

The DATING command will help you give links for others relating to their area for dating and friends. You can also use your profile nickname to show the chat room! If you wish to use more than one keyword, use a period to separate the words (Example: dating new.york). You can use partial keywords without wildcards.
Usage of DATING:
dating nickname

The INFO command will help you give links to requested information on our HIV search engine.
Usage of INFO:
info Keyword
Example: info Sustiva

The FIND command will give the top result from Google, you can use multiple keywords for this feature.
Usage of FIND:
find key terms

The LIST command will list out the main sites that are part of our HIV/AIDS Network for the room to see.
Usage of LIST:

The TIME command will display to the room what time it is EST (GMT-5 Toronto/NYC time), this time is what time it is on the main server.
Usage of TIME:

The RULES command will display the basic rules of our chat room for those who do not know we are a moderated room.
Usage of RULES:

The QUIT command will force you to leave the chat room.

The HELP command will list ways you too can get involved with our support group, from helping us let others know to joining our other support areas.

The LUCK command will bring up daily lucky numbers :)
Usage of LUCK:

The FACT command will make a random (1-150) HIV/AIDS fact show up, great way to show HIV negative some HIV truths or just a way to kill some boredom is no one is around. Even "fact" used in a sentence will trigger this.

The TOPIC command is pretty much the same as the FACT command (will make a random HIV/AIDS fact show up) but this is a hint at a topic for discussion if no one knows what to talk about. Even "topic" used in a sentence will trigger this.

The SOUNDS command will list the sounds available to you for the main layout (not all our JAVA layouts allow sounds), plus instructions how to use will be listed.

The ROOMS command will list out HIV/AIDS chat rooms (main mixed room, gay, bi, hetero, women, etc) that you may join. Once listed, click the room name to join!

The SITE command will list a random site from www.HIVsearch.com.
Usage of SITE:

The TIP command is for advanced users who wish to check partial IP addresses (partial IP addresses are not useful for misuse). Just use the first 2 sets (or 3 if there is a third dot/decimal seen) of numbers (say IP addy is 192.168.0.a7x3 that you see in chat room, just use 192.168. as the last bit is scrambled and useless information) to see what nicknames have been used by a IP address (remember that AOL and other ISP companies have ever so changing IP addresses which makes it hard to determine exact results). If there is no results, you will not get a response.
BTW: by using the SEEN command, you can find out a partial IP address of any nickname that has been in recently or type "/whois nickname" (remove quotes, don't forget the slash before "whois") to find an IP for someone in the chatroom right now.
Wish to find out what ISP is running that partial IP address (may let you know what country/region chatter is really from, AOLers are not accurate)? Well here's a form to do a quick lookup:

Advanced Commands For "OPs"Banning (and moving) a chatter from the room your are in:kick nickname This command will move a problem chatter ("sex talkers" and "pesty pozzies") to the #unmonitored chatroom (room without any rules) and ban them from the room you are in. This command only works for "ops". This command will also "deop" you just incase someone shouldn't be "opped" (just get "reopped"). Example: kick DaveyBoy Banning a Chat User From The Server (banned from all rooms): ban nickname This command will completely remove a problem chatter who insists on either bashing or being mean to others. They will no longer be able to join the server which means they will not be able to join any chatrooms on our IRC chat server! This command only works for "ops". This command will also "deop" you just incase someone shouldn't be "opped" (just get "reopped"). Example: ban DaveyBoy Moving a HIV Negative Person To #HIVaffected: move nickname This command will move the person you selected to chat channel #HIVaffected where they may discuss HIV issues with people in the main room who decide to venture over to chat with them (it is announced in main room that the person was moved to #HIVaffected). When you use this command, you will also join (while staying in original room) the #HIVaffected room to help assist them. This command only works for "ops".
